i need a camera for my photography class at my high school... im pretty sure my teacher said a 35mm.. i haven't been able to find a camera but my friend just found one the other day and it's a 50mm. it's a civica F-700... it look like the ones my teacher has (big, ancient...) can this camera have it's lens changed? does it really matter if it's the wrong lens size... like could i not use it for the class? what difference does a wrong lens size make?

When you say 35mm camera, thats not a refrence to the lens, thats a reference to the film size. 50mm on a 35mm camera gives roughly the same view as a human eye, so they often call it a normal lens meaning normal view.

I've never seen a Civica camera so couldnt tell you if its an SLR (single lens reflex) or not. If you keep your eye on Craigslist.org for your area you may find some good deals on older film SLRs. If the Civica has controls for both aperture and shutter speed you should be able to use it for your class.

Good luck

Find a Nikon or Canon 35 mm SLR with standard zoom lens for under $150 on craigslist

Buying a no name camera can only lead to problems.

I just looked up that camera ... it is not suitable for use in a photo class. You need a fully adjustable camera, this is a toy
