And the law lost!
Or something...
As all my posts start out, it seems, I was cruising the hghways and byways of the countryside in my red 1992 Camaro with the windows down and the wind rushing through my long luscious locks, tangling them into fits of joy... Or they would have, if I werent so upset about me and my girlfriend splitting up yesterday and my best friend not being home and not having a phone number to reach him at because he's poor ad he lives a fucking hour away from my house and so whatever whatever...
Im cruising along GA Highway 57 and the limit is 55, and this person is going like 51, so Im like screw this person, I shall assume velocity-based superiority and zip around. As I do so, I discover a chunk of debris in the road that I swerve around mid-lane shift, and resume my maneuver. I look up to see the Georgia State Patrol staring my ass down.
They quickly pull in behind me, follow me, flick the lights on and pull my ass over.
Let's regress for a second. I am a long haired 21 year old with a bad complexion, a death metal band shirt on, and driving an old Camaro. These guys must think they've hit the damn jackpot!
Newbie cop strolls up to my window and says "I noticed you swerved back there, what was that all about?"
I says "I was changing lanes and there was something in the road, I didnt want to run over it. You can see it if you go back and look I'm sure."
He says "Well the reason I pulled you over is because you weren't wearing your seatbelt, did you know that GA state law requi
I interject "But sir, I WAS wearing my seatbelt, it may not be obvious since in my car the belt comes out of hte ceiling here and goes through a loop on teh seat beside my shoulder, so it just LOOKS that way, but I dont want to argue with you... "
He asks for my license, runs my name Im sure, saw that I'm completely clean and gave me a written warning and sent me on my way.
Take that cops! I fought the law and the law lost!
Overdramatic? You bet, but it almost made a horrible day that was getting more horrible into a good one. Nothing like getting pulled over, telling the cops tehy're stupid, and getting off with a warning.
And the warning was for "Improper lane change".
Unfortunately I never did find out where to find my friend and my ex girlfriend wont get back with me...
I keep sayin it's for the best this way, but it's hard.
