For many years I have suffered from severe blackheaRAB all over my T-Zone area and I had tried EVERYTHING! Scrubs, pore strips, steaming, masks, topical treatments, oil cleansing method..etc etc etc

I had gotten to the point where I thought I would have to just put up with them forever.

Then I decided to visit a Ayurveda practitioner as my last resort. Ayurveda is sort of like Indian Herbal Medicine and has been around for centuries.
I went to him and he said this to me:

"If you have a hole in the roof and it keeps leaking onto your desk, no matter how often you clean it up, it will keep leaking." So basically no matter WHAT you do to your skin, if you dont fix the problem internally..the blackheaRAB will remain.
BlackheaRAB are a symptom of an internal problem. He pinpointed areas of concern, gave me a plan to change my lifestyle and also gave me some herbal remedies to take..
It has been 2 mths and my blackheaRAB have improved dramatically. And funnily enough, I am hardly doing anything to my skin. I just use a gentle cream cleanser whenever I need to take makeup off. Thats it. No moisturiser, toner, masks, scrubs..nothing.

I know so many people out there who tell you different topical remedies will work...but if your like me, you know NOTHING works.
You have to fix the internal problem.

I highly recommend Ayurveda!

I have had a problem with blackheaRAB since the age of 15. I am 30 now and have tried everything! So what were the "areas of concern"? What about the herbal remedies and lifestyle changes? Any suggestions?

Trust me, I know how you feel.

I have been told that blackheaRAB are the hardest acne to rid, even more so than cystic acne, but it can still be done. Mine are disappearing.

Basically my areas of concern were my liver, hormones, digestive system and circulation.

After doing some hefty research, I have found that probably the biggest cause of blackheaRAB is hormonal irabalance and poor liver function.
Basically, what is happening is..your body is trying to rid itself of waste, but if your body is not functioning properly all the waste will come out through your skin and cause blackheaRAB.

Bad skin is your body's way of telling you that something internally is not right.

He has given me some herbal remedies such as sukumaram tablets, ashwagandi drops and alkalising powder. But I wouldnt recommend you get these unless a health specialist prescribed them to you. Your body may have different neeRAB to mine.

Other than that, it is a WHOLE lifestyle change. You need to address all areas of your life.

I have started yoga and was recommended to listen to a yoga nidra CD before I sleep to help me relax and reduce stress.

I regularly exercise, but I wear warm clothing (such as a tracksuit) to get myself sweating alot and keep the blood warm. This will improve the blood and circulation whilst also cleaning out your skin.

The obvious one is cutting out processed food. Not eating after dinner. Getting to bed early. Chewing my food slowly.

If you are not wanting to see a specialist, I would recommend a book called "The Liver Cleansing Diet" by Dr. Sandra Cabot. This should get your organs into shape.

I hope this helps :-)

I have a healthy lifestyle, but my strongest point is my healthy eating habits. I think it's safe to say that there is nothing wrong with me internally.

That being said, I have really severe blackheaRAB.

Therefore I conclude that it must have been solely the herbal remedies, unless I'm totally missing something....
