...weapon laws? Yesterday I was mugged by 3 black men from the ages of probably 17-20. I luckily walked away with my wallet still, and just a busted forehead from punches from the surprise attack. At the time I had a folder on me, with a 4inch blade, but because of the blade length, I was not able to land cuts, my attackers were able to get out of the way just in time before my blade struck em. I feel though as if I had a bigger blade I could have defend myself better. Yes I had 3 guys attacking so the odds were against me, but I feel as if couldn't have received much blows if I had bigger blade in my hands. Is there anyway of getting around these weapon laws with them still being legal. I know you probably thinking, "get a concealed weapons permit". I would like to, but I can't. I am only 20 and the max blade length in where I live, Florida, is only 4 inches. Only folders, no fixed blades. Is there way of getting a concealed weapons permit a lot sooner?
Also to when the cops were called to the scene, they really didn't care what blade I was carrying on me, or how big it was, or what it looked like, just that it was away from the bloody face victim when being asked questions. In fact all of the cops really didn't care, what weapon I used, they were more interested that I was defending myself. So in some cases, do cops really care what weapon you must use in order to defend your self?
