I fail at phones.,

My relationship with the wonderful device we all know and are attached to, the cell phone, has been an interesting one.

I've managed to break 3 Razrs; 2 I dropped numerous times on pavement, and the third's wire that connected the screen to the internal crap shorted out from me opening and closing it so much. I had a crappy Nokia that fell out of my pocket and into the toilet at work a few years ago. I had a nice little Nokia that I left on a gas station counter in Erie, PA. I left my Blackjack in the rest area bathroom on my way back from Cedar Point but remembered and went back for it; then a few weeks later dropped it in the sink at the bar, but thankfully it dried out in 3 days and still worked, but froze at least twice a day.

Yesterday my mom and I decided to go have a mother-daughter day. We went to a Chinese restaurant about 20 minutes away. I got out of the car and went to the back passenger door to get my purse out. I unconsciously placed my phone on the roof of my car so that I could lean into my car and get my purse and rearrange some stuff. I forgot it there. We ate, came back out, and I felt like something was missing. We got in the car, pulled out of the lot, drove about 2 minutes to the highway, got on, hit a small pothole, and I heard something plunk down onto my trunk then onto the pavement and the car behind me ran it over. I immediately remembered setting my phone on my roof to get my purse.

FAIL. Now I have to go a couple weeks without a phone until I get another paycheck and can afford to replace mine, plus the SIM card. Bleh.

RAZR's are little pieces of shit anyway. They break even if you don't abuse them. I'm on my sixth phone since I got my first one about 5 years ago. My first phone was a shitty little Samsung that came free with a new contract, the hinge busted on that one after about a year. Then, when sprint refused to give me a new phone when I took my broken one in to the shop, even though I had hardware insurance, I told them to go fuck themselves, and switched to Cingular. Cingular was awesome, until they turned into AT&T. I started with a RAZR, which I lost within a few weeks (it was already fucking up on me alot) I got it replaced, and the second one started to have problems almost immediately. That one got lost too. They wouldn't replace a second lost phone, so I used an old Nokia that my dad had as a backup. That one worked really well until one day I stepped into the water at the beach one day, and instantly sunk into the mud to my knees. The phone was in my pocket, got salt water in it, and died. Then I went back to the AT&T store, found that I was eligible for a hardware upgrade. I told them I wanted anything that wasn't Motorola. I got a little LG flip phone, which served me well for a long time. That one still works, but I replaced it last year with a Samsung solstice, so I could be one of the cool kids with a touch phone.

Do you like the Solstice? I was debating on an Impression because I prefer the slide out keyboard but still want a touch screen.

I always use the cheap ass phone... or the free phone.... Never broke or lost a phone. Matter of fact... the only time I got a new phone is when I switched services. I still have all my old phones... and they work. Meh....

Oh yeah... I picked up a Sony Erickson from a pawn shop before I got my Samsung... I dropped it once, and the POS broke. Those phones are crap.

HAHAHAHA... Awww my mom is just like that, she loves to forget things in the roof of cars, from cellphones and purses... to birthday cakes

Have you considered buying a leash for your phone? Maybe you can attach it to your purse or the jean you are wearing lol. Other than that I can only recommend you to buy the cheapest phone on the market or get insurance.
