I emptied my flash drive but my computer still says that there is no room on it ? ?

i have a 4 gb flash drive and i put about 2 gb of files on it... i deleted the files and now when i connect my flash drive to the computer again it still says that theres 2 gb used ? ? im on a mac

whats the problem here
