Most likely totalled. If it is then I'm thinking of buying it back and making it a track ony bike and buying something else for the street. I'm really taken by the newer Monster or possibly a Hypermotard. Any thoughts on either? I want my need for speed to be saited by the track so want summat fun for the street that I can still mod a little and wont be put to total shame when i ride with my Jap litre mates.

Sorry to hear about the mishap. Any chance of getting some details.

Shoulders are a bitch had mine reconstructed over ten years ago and it still gives me problems to this day.

that I was going into a relatively gentle left hander, nice road position, nice bend, nice body position and then I hit a big patch of deep (1/2") sand and gravel. Tucked the front end and slammed into the tarmac. Left shoulder and head hit at the same time, I slid for about 6 ft before disappearing into a ditch with the bike, where I managed to sit up, gather my thoughts and then begin to pain, followed by more pain and the most painful ambulance journey I could ever imagine.

I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow.

The bike is a mess, but mainly cosmetic. However there are scratches on the swingarm and the frame so they alone will most likely be enough for an insurance write off.

Also totalled a spec 1R lid, and rashed up an Alpinestars leather jacket, Dainese leather pants and a set of boots. And a set of Alpinestar gloves.

Ouch! I've only been down at the track with ample run off room and still broke my collar bone but not a shoulder..will you be satisfied without a superbike? I wasn't and it ended up costing me more$$ to get what I wanted after "comprimising"..hope rehab goes well and since you can't ride yet, really decide on what you WANT to ride..good luck!

Have to agree with above post about 2-valve maybe not satisfying you after the top-end of the 1098. Good in the tight stuff, but the 4s will piss off on you on the faster stuff. And I feel your pain - just getting over a knee injury; not off the 1098 thankfully...
