I dropped my Panasonic DMC-TZ5 camera. Read more for details!?

While the camera's off, the lens is still open. I can still view my photos but when I try to take pictures, the lens opens closes, and stays open; the screen says to 'Turn off camera then on', which I've done countless times. Will I be able to fix it on my own, considering the camera actually knows it 'needs a break'? please help!
 
nope, you cannot fix it on your own. Getting it fixed may be more expensive than actually getting a new camera.

next time, use a wrist strap to stop unwanted damage due to gravity
