when I'm driving? I have to step on the clutch all the way in order to change gear. What do I need to do to stop this from happening? This never happened to me before. Sometimes when I step on the gas when I warm up the car in the morning it helps but I'm worried, it could be something more serious & expensive. Does anyone out there know? Thanks!!!

OK..OPen the operator's manual and look to see they it specifies the clutch pedal free play.
If that free paly (slack) is excessive then you wonl;t be able to shift smoothly.
Next, check the oil level in the transmission. Got any??
Popping it out of gear w/o the clutch is a bad idea. (unless you are being chased by two heared MArtians or something of similar ilk)

Drive it a little bit easier. You should be able to just pop it out of gear if you give the gas pedal just a tap at around 1500rpm and pull it out of gear right after that. If it doesn't, then I would suggest a trip to a local mechanic to see if anything comes up on the computer.

Find a clutch/brake or transmission specialist that does free estimates. I'd say a leak in the clutch hydraulics (if it's a hydraulic clutch or the clutch cable needing adjustment
