Do you find it odd that people keep bemoaning the fact that stephanie meyers is awful because she made vampires sparkle, and how 'inaccurate' that is?
The way I see it is, all vampires are fictional, so nothing about them is 'accurate' as such. So obviously you wouldn't change the main things about them - being the blood drinking, dead, aspects - but the specifics can surely change, right?
They can't go into the sun - sure, some say because they burn, others say because they sparkle and look like pansies.
So why is it so wrong to come up with something new, when it's all just fiction anyway?
