I don't understand am I this weird looking?

I don't really care about looks but I'm kinda a little satisifed with what I see but I mostly care about just being healthy I have TMJ and would love to have a healthy jaw back but that's another story. Okay so what I don't understand is that I was at school and I had to get something in another teacher's room and as I went there the teacher told me I looked great and I was a little embarrassed cause I don't really like to hear anything about my appearance and there were a bunch of kids in class so I kinda just said thanks but in a quiet way. Then I walked out as quick but then as I was walking home this car passed by with these two guys in the car I wasn't even staring at the car and the driver as he drove by yelled at me that I was ugly I was just like wtf? I'm a guy but am I this weird looking to be insulted by the public.
Also I was walking by in the hallway of school and this one girl passing by smiled at me I was kinda caught off guard and just walked by I don't understand anymore I think I'm just going to avoid mirrors and let others deal with my appearance
