he acts like he wants to eat it but then when he tries to go for it he misses the food or just spits it out, should I try a new food? im feeding him "wardley betta food" I just bought him less than a week ago, like 3 days ago.. what should I do? he looks healthy and hasnt lsot coloring

if your trying the little pellets,I would try flakes,he might be used to flakes, and the pellets hurt his mouth,or he might be old and they hurt him,if your using flakes, try pellets,he might be used to those...

Ha that is funny I got a betta fish 3 days ago and i am feeding "wardley betta food" too.

Anyway I would try feeding him something different - may I recommend flake food?

And it is probably ok if he doesn't like the pellets - some betta fish are pickier than others.

its fine i had a betta once i thought it just died cuz of starving but, 4 yrs later my mom told me she was cleaning the fish tank and accidently filled it with hot water!!!! i wont forgive my mom anytime soon that fish killer!!! lol she didnt mean it anyway ur fish is acting completly fine, just give it time and it will start eating also i used the same food so ya keep it up.

Beta fish are not big eaters. You should feed him once or twice a day. So if you feed him more than that he might be full when you feed him.

Or He might be nervous since he is new, so if he is in a bowl with more fish, put him in a separate tank. He could just be getting use to his surroundings.

But if he is in a tank alone, and he is not sick, then try some different food. Betas can eat regular fish flakes, blood worms, or beta food, which can be found at any pet store. (and if you buy them blood worms than be sure to keep them frozen. i know because i had an aqua frog that ate those.)

Anyways, make sure he is in a tank alone, you feed him right, and he is not sick. If this doesnt work, change his food.

Good luck with ur beta!
