would it matter if he had shots by previous owner.i dont know the history of this dog. but want him vaccinated with what he needs.parvo..ect..found him astray starving skinny, full of fleas, so dirty and very thirsty. he is about 6months.we want to take care of him.

I think so.
When a shelter gets a new dog, if they don't know it's history, I'm almost 100% sure they will give them all their vaccinations, whether they've had them before or not. Your vet will advise you anyway.

since there's no record of previous vaccines, he'll have to do all the series over (or for the first time since no clue on vaccines). but go ahead and vaccinate him to protect your new family member, you and your family!

thank you for saving him!

i think the vet will still update his shots even though your not too sure if he had them or not call the vet in the morning and make an appointment or visit a walk in clinic(:

Yes he can. We do it all the time. In fact I did it with a >1 year old GS dog I found on the streets a couple of years ago. It's not going to hurt him and it's better to be safe than sorry. :)

Good luck!
