I dont get this joke?

The man has a fox a rabbit and a carrot on one side of a river and he has a samll boat and can only takr over one at a time but he need then all over there but if he takes the carrot, the fox will eat the rabbit and if he takes the fox the rabbit will eat the carrots??


my dad siad it possible can someone tell me the answer
 
Take the rabbit over.
Come back and get the carrot
take the carrot over and leave it , but take the rabbit back with you.

Let the rabbit out and get the fox and take him over
Come back and get the rabbit and when you and the rabbit get there, you will have the fox the rabbit and the carrot on the other side of the river
 
1. take the carrot to the other side
2. take the rabbit to the other side
3. take the carrot to the place where you came from
4. take the fox to the other side
5. take the rabbit to the place where you came from
6. take the carrot to the other side
7. finally, take the rabbit to the other side

There you go
