Just saw this documentary for the first time yesterday and have already watched it again. It's titled "Every Fucking Day of My Life". For those who aren't aware, it's a documentary about a woman named Wendy Maldonado, who after suffering nearly twenty years of physical abuse by her husband Aaron, and along with the oldest of her four sons, then 16 (I think), bludgeoned Aaron to death w/a hammer. She's now serving a 10-year sentence, and her son Randy is serving 6 years. The judge at their formal sentencing hearing even says that the definition of "justifiable homicide" needs to be "expanded", but until it is, by law she and Randy did commit murder and therefore they must serve time. The documentary recounts how Wendy, a high-school dropout, married this slightly older guy at about 17, quickly became pregnant, and found out only when their first son was over a year old that he "fantasized" about being a serial killer, and soon after he began abusing her physically. She has only four teeth left from all the times he broke her jaw, etc.; there are holes all over the walls from where he smashed her head into the wall. Difficult to watch but i don't know, is there really an injustice in the system, or did they get what they deserved? Opinions? Thoughts? I'm not for either side.. just want answers. Thanks.
