I will be in Army ROTC in the fall and i want to eventually become a helicopter pilot. But i am also interested in the Coast Guard and being a pilot there. Someone please help.

Ask yourself this: Do you want to fly combat missions or rescue missions? You could try the Army and switch over afterwards. Just go with your gut.

BTW to the idiot that said the coast guard doesnt get deployed.. you might want to rethink that not to mention the coast guard has to deal with drug runners witch in it's self is it's own danger but seriously don't be a puddle pirate join the army

In the coast guard, you would save lives. You don't earn a lot of respects from the civilians or other service members until they are stranded out in the sea.

Being a military helicopter pilot is actually harder than a fixed wing pilot. I can hear the jet jockeys screaming now! The reason, is because you use all of your limbs to fly a chopper and you can fly backwards (which I am told is disorienting). The thing that stops most people from flight school is the physical. I had an applicant for Army flight school washed out because he had a hearing deficit at 3khz in his left ear. You might save yourself lots of time and ask your doctor if he/she knows what a military flight physical entails and could you pass it?
