Long story short, when I got home I ran in to grab some money off the table to pay for the taxi, but it was all gone. Turns out a family member took it. I had no cash or other way to pay. I apologized profoundly to the taxi driver, and promised that I would pay her tomorrow, and pay the fee for her to come to me house. I take her taxi at least 1 every two weeks, so I wasn't planning on avoiding her.
She said she usual call the police, but instead she took my phone number, name, and she already knew where I lived.
I never would have taken that taxi had I know I couldn't cover it.
If I pay her tomorrow, as soon as I can, and I pay for her to come over, is that enough? I already apologized, so I think I was polite enough, even if I couldn't hold up my end of the deal. The taxi ride was $5, and I'll add another $5 to make up for the trouble, is that enough?
