I am from a very poor refugee family. We migrated to United States last year. My family consists 8 members: one brother, one sister, grandparents, parents, and one niece. Their income hardly meet our monthly expenses.
To the point - I am a high school senior this year. Although english is not my native language, I proudly describe myself as an active learner. I have a 4.0 weighted and unweighted gpa. I am sure that my family can't afford even a single penny for my college expenses.
Does my family economic situation hold me back from attending decent University? If FAFSA can help me then how it would be? Does FAFSA offer scholarship to needy as well as an assiduous students?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
