A shade of red, like maroon would look wonderful; or a green not too bright and not too dark. With shades of brown you can have some fun with, mixing and matching.
So what you could do, is for the accent pillows find a pattern and a solid shade of red/green, Then for the rug, sometimes you may get lucky and find one with all the colors that are in your room, if you can find one that will pull the whole room together. The curtains, if you chose a shade of red get brown tiebacks with a red swag, if you chose a shade of green I would do the tiebacks in green and the swag in brown. (you can do the tiebacks and swag either way, the image I have in my head the green shade for the tiebacks would lighten up the room and give it a warmth) Best of decorating!!
