I Created HTML files as part of a new website im going to make , what do webhosts do ?

Do webhosts like GoDaddy let you upload your htm files and it will look the way you created it or have previewed it in an internet explorer.How do the files find themsleves when uploading ? what way does that go, my website has a few hundred so far. what way can you organise them when uploaded and how do you edit them
