I cracked my iphone 3gs screen?

I recently cracked the screen on my IPhone 3gs screen, I believe it's still under warranty because I got it in August. However apple did replace my phone in October due to a default, I don't want to pay $199 to get it fixed nor do I want to replace it myself. What should I do??
