I Confess
I confess.
I am a sinner.
I have walked into the darkness,
And I have came back into light.
Things I have seen and done
Will never leave my thoughts alone.
I’ve seen the utmost deception of
Man. Killing and stealing. Raping
And Depraving. We are all one.
And I have seen the inherit good
Of humankind helping one another.
Man can create limitless possibilities
When prospered in absolute love.
Two totally separate ideas,
On opposite ends of the spectrum.
Yet, ironically, each extreme
Crawls beneath our skin
Making us either better
To ourselves and society
Or a menace to those around us.
The forbearer of pain.
There is no route of pure righteousness;
Evil and decency, though different trails,
Both intertwine eventually in the middle.
Either way you go,
You will wind up on the wrong road
Asking yourself,
“How did I end up here?”
Oh Heavenly Father,
I am a sinner
In need of forgiveness.
Oh evil within,
I am a saint
In need of transgressions.
I confess.
Oh, I confess.
I confess.
I am a sinner.
I have walked into the darkness,
And I have came back into light.
