I committed a felony, but it is not on my criminal history report...should I disclose

it? I committed a felony nearly 10 years ago. I always disclose it on applications, because I was sure that it would show up on my background check. I recently e-mailed the company that conducts the back ground checks for my company to request a copy of my criminal history report and guess what-it came up clean...It says "Report Complete: No Court Records Found"

I know that a lot of things kind of fall off your record after 7 years...but the strange thing is, I have a one recent check from when I switched jobs that probably shouldn't include the conviction b/s it was 8 yrs after the conviction, but I also had one done a few years ago when I first started that was only 4 yrs after the conviction and it says the same thing!

So, my background check seems to be clean.

What should I do? I really want to stop disclosing the conviction, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea. I work for a state institution and I just want to move up within the institution, so this company will always be the one conducting the checks...and it does the reviews for most other state institutions, too, so I will prolly always come out clean.

What should I do??

In New Jersey, you only have to disclose it after 7 years of the guilty verdict.

Why bother after that? You are following the law. So should the company.
