...inappropriate comments? I went with my husband to his boss's bbq last week and had a decent time for what was really a mandatory function. They live only a block from us so it was not too big a hassle. One problem has come up that I don't know how to deal with. While at their house, I was acting as a sort of unofficial babysitter of their junior high age boys (6th and 8th grades) who seemed like nice kids until I caught them reading through one of their dad's magazines (you know the kind I mean). I was embarrassed more than anything and stupidly agreed not to tell their dad what they had been up to. Now twice in the last three days they have come by our house during the afternoon and have asked me to do things that are plainly inappropriate for young kids, like get them another magazine or watch me in the shower. It seems like they consider me a co-conspirator or something when I really just want to be left alone by these kids now. What is my good move here? I do not want to create tension between my husband and his boss on account of this. Do I speak with their father? Do I ask my husband to do it? Will his boss be angry that I know about his magazine choices? How do I do the adult thing while avoiding conflict with a family that can really make or break my husband's career at this point?
