I cant walk my dog in my weird street ???! Help what to do ?

okay since im getting a dog, i was thinking of where will i walk him and excercise and stuff, i live in a compound but there was a gate that broke which allowed many stray dogs inside the compound ! so when i take a walk out i always see mamy of them which are huge and fight with other neighbors dogs. and im almost 14 and im the person who will walk him or my brother who is 20 , so if i walk him and the stray dogs come near what do i do ? because sometimes they try to fight .... so my queation is what do i do ?? no bad comments please
