i cant view my php codes typed on notepad on internet explorer .. please help!!!?

whenever i try openeing the file with internet explorer, the internet explorer page flashes and goes away and a box cums us asking me is the comp. shd save or open the file... like it cums when we are trying to download something ... after i save it , the same thing cums back again .. please help me !!!!!! i beg :'(
