I can't upload my photos, whats wrong?

I am trying to upload my photos from my Kodak Easy Share camera with my cable onto my Toshiba laptop with Vista. It normally always works, but today it isn't, whats wrong? What should I do?
Every time I turn on my camera when it's plugged in, it makes three low tones, it doesn't usually do that.
