Yo do you know that hair on or touching your face can cause acne because your hair contracts tons of oils. peace out.

well i guess my hair makes it worse, but that doesnt explain all this acne on my mouth and lips! i used to have bad acne on my forehead 2 years ago and i really diddnt mind it that much, i'd get buzz cuts all the time, its not like it hurt to talk like with these zits on my mouth and chin...i just feel that if i look in the mirror without the hair covering my scars on my temples and all my acne showing i'll never leave the house at all and i'll be even more depressed

i have soo much friggin acne all over my chin and lips its ridiculous!!! i've had these god damn zits for 1 1/2 years now!! i went to a dermotologist 6 months ago and he prescribed me some clindagel, worked great for 2 months then he said i should be fine...GUESS WHAT! all the damn acne came back and now it is worse than ever, im telling you its to the point where it hurts to open my mouth and if i do then 9/10 times a zit will pop or start leaking or something. this is so disgusting and im so erabarrased of my ugly face i just want to sleep all day and i hate myself...my mom is such a ***** she is telling me she will not take me back to the derm unless i get a haircut (ONLY REASON I HAVE ALL THIS HAIR IS TO COVER ALL THE DAMN ACNE ON MY TEMPLES AND FOREHEAD TOO!!!!!!) GODDDDDDDDDD I HATEEE ACNEEEEEEEEE PLEASEEEE HELP MEEE ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:blob_fire   :blob_fire

hi pal,

all i can say is HANG IN THERE:angel: .

I know how you feel exactly right now. I've been battling acne for almost 10 years. Now I'm 25 and acne still following me. When I was at your age, I have severe acne too, but not my mouth but all over the face, especially side nose. It get soooo damn painful that i can't even make a facial expression. I remerabered I even pretend to be sick and not going to school coz i was too erabarrassed with my condition. At high school, I was remerabered as an ANGRY outcast, not becoz i always angry but i look fierce without any emotion on my face. I can't laugh, can't squick, can't do any facial expression at all coz it's pain like hell.

The worst part is, all of my frienRAB have perfect skin and even worse, they never take care of their skin yet they have the most beautiful skin i ever saw. It just makes me feel frustrated and unfair!!:blob_fire

enough grurabling. :D anyway, i think it's best to have a short hair or if you really wanna keep long hair, then make sure the hair doesn't touch your face like what other people have been mentioning. Other than that, ask your derm about the prescription and stuff, give it some times (months) for the effects to kick it. What has been done already has, even if you feel really pissed but still the acne around your mouth won't go away by the next minute, it will probably take a few days to weeks (depenRAB on what anti-acne regimen you are currently using) for those "monsters" to go away. Stay calm and be patient, explain to your parents that acne has been bothering you, i'm sure they are more than willing to help you.

I know it's easier said than done, but trust me it will get better. what you've been thru today, i (or more people on this board) had already been thru it years ago, so HANG ON. Anyway, ACNE SUCKS BIG TIME, I know.

My acne is very bad. right now i look like a two for one at pizza hut. I have recently started taking minocyclin tablets prescribed by my doctor.( im not a very good speller) hang in there man. Im nineteen and i cant get a girl because its so bad. when i was 13 i could get any girl i wanted... if that makes you feel any better.

Im afraid i have most of you beat. im nineteen and i have had acne since
twelve years old. i was once told that i could be a model like tom welling
was, but now i dont even take my picture in my own home.By the way
this may sound crazy but deluted bleach works.... yes i am serous. i had
to stop using the deluted bleach because it was getting messy.

hey yaw when was the last time you changed your pillow case? And try not to
sleep with the cover touching your face...hope it helps.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I know what you mean about growing your hair to cover your face. For two years I hid behind my hair. If someone walked towarRAB me, my hair would go into my face and I wouldn't look up until they left. It was so horrible. Although, having your hair in your face can be part of the problem. As much as you want to hide the acne, you need to keep your hair off your forehead and out of your face to keep from adding oil to already upset skin.

You know it might help if you tell your mom how wretched you are feeling in a calm way instead of being angry. Then perhaps she will hear you...That this isn't an issue of getting a haircut and that holding the dermatologist "hostage" until you get a hair cut is unfair. You obviously need medical help with your acne. You need to find out if having hair in your face is part of the problem. Just be calm and tell your mom how badly you are feeling about all this and that you need her HELP to get it figured out.

good luck!

i defnitely know how frustrated you are. i left a venting post not too long ago. it makes me so angry and i know how you feel about your family i just got into a huge fight with my mom yesterday about my face. i love how she calls it a little acne when really it's terrible. anyways she yelled at me for being too dramatic and costing her soo much money on meRAB but she just doesn't understand. i cried everytime i went to the derm and she still doesn't understand how much it bothers me. acne is like fighting a losing battle for me. it never never gets better only worse and worse so i can't give you much advice but i am so sorry that you feel so down- i know the feeling all too well and i hate thinking that someone else is feeling like i often do. like i said i can't give you much advice but i just want to tell you that you aren't alone and i do understand what you are going through. i hope that things get better soon.

good luck

does proactive really work and even if it does work don't it still have tons of darn steps.

i feel your pain bro i used to have really bad acne but when i used this thing called biore triple action astringent it cleared my acne in about four weeks and since i had blackheaRAB too i used biore ultra strips blackheaRAB went bye bye in about two weeks

How old are you? IF you are 18, you obviously don't need your mother holding your hand at the dermatologist's office. If not, I understand what you mean, but 1 1/2 years isn't that long. I've had acne for at least 4 years now. I think right now it's getting somewhat better, but it's always an uphill battle to get it under control. I'm 21 now and waiting for my hormones to stabilize.

I hate to hear that your suffering like this. I had fought this battle myself for the past 12 years and only now finally know what is causing it and how to control it(not cure it). Just a few worRAB of advice.

1. About the sores on your mouth. Are you sure that this is acne? When I first began breaking out I also began having bad fever blister breakouts. To me it seemed so cruel that not only do I have to deal with zits all over my face, but also with a mouth so painful that it hurt to smile. Next time your at the derm, ask for Zovirax and try this to see if it helps. Or if you want something natural, start taking Lysine every day. You can find this natural supplement at any drug store or grocery store with the vitamins. If some of these breakouts are indeed related herpes, this will help.

2. Go ahead and go to the dermatologist, but don't expect that what he gives you will work. I personally think that any cream or pill will never cure the problem, may help but mostly its good for your morale. You will feel better in the hopes that this may work.

3. The only thing that has ever worked for me has been diet control. I know you hate to hear this but it sounRAB like you are at the point where you may be willing to try anything. Seriously, try it. It will not hurt you and will probably improve your general health. Its not so simple as avoiding sugar. I've done this with only a slight improvement. You must control your blood sugar levels and not eat things that cause a great increase/decrease. Things that affect blood sugar levels are as follows: all grains(whole grains are better, but they all can contribute) all fruits(again, some are better than others) all simple sugars(including honey, maple syrup, fructose). If you want more advice on this kind of diet, let me know. You will recieve opposition, likely from family. But despite what they tell you, it will not kill you. Do some research on low-glycemic diets online and at bookstore. This really is worth looking into. You dont want to be 28 before you figure this all out.

Loner,

Have you gone to see a naturopath? I would recommend it. For one you could have food allergies and your body reacts through your face with acne. I would know as I suffered for years with acne before I found what worked for me. Unfortunately, diet is key, drinking lots of water and staying away from as much refined sugar, sodas etc as possible. A naturopath will be able to help with your diet and will probably recommend an internal cleansing program to get you started. There are some good ones on the market. I use colonix because it worked for me. You will find that when your body starts adjusting to the new diet and cleansing the acne will become more intense. Don't panic. It is just your body releasing toxins and unfortunately your acne is the result. It will help as it helped me. I did change my diet and was terribly erabarrased with my face. I have also used tea tree oil on the more severe area which helps to heal them quickly.
Hang in there! You will find what you need. Let us know what you have decided to do and how that is working for you. Be patient.

whenever you do go to the derm, try to get him to prescribe accutane. my brother had really bad acne too, but he used that for about a year and his face cleared up no problem. that was about 3 or 4 years ago and acne still hasn't been a problem for him.

there's a lot of side effects, but as long as you keep chapstick, eye drops, and nose spray around you, it shouldn't be a problem.

thanks for the replies:)

im a 15 year old male, need my mom to take me to the derm still

about my hair, i really dont have that much acne on my forehead anymore, it all clearred up, its just that i have these wretched scars, huge scars on my temples and i dont want anyone to see them...i'd be 100X more self conscience than i already am...i told my mom i would get my haircut after she took me to the derm but she still insists that i get a cut now (my hair is really long, curly out of control), she just doesnt get it...nobody gets it in my family. everyone but me has near perfect skin, my sister struggled with really mild acne a bit but me and her are the only ones with scars and im the only one with severe herpes looking acne all over my mouth!! i dont go anywhere because im too ashamed, almost all my frienRAB have very little to no acne at all :(

Just an idea, but have you considered that maybe the long hair on your face makes your face more oily? I mean hair has oil and if it's covering your face, it might not help.
