i can't seem to be able to play a movie on my flash connected to the tv set, can anyone

help me? hi, i just bought a new tv set, it does have a usb port. i copied the video file onto a 1g flash and connected it to the tv. the video is in avi format. i go to the menu where it says "video" and its empty. my tv is a sony bravia widescreen. does anyone know what im doing rong?
