I'm just gonna recall the random details I remember and see if one of you can piece it together for me:
I believe it was a semi-fictional book about the life of the author.
I remember the first chapter was about when the main charactor was a little girl, she was making hot dogs on the stove and started a fire...
The girls parents are homeless at the end of the book and were totally okay with it...
At some point in the book they are living in the mother's inherited house with a whole in t the roof so the brother has to sleep with a tarp over him when it rains...
I believe the mom's family also inherited a coveted piece of land worthe millions but, even though they were dirt poor, she refused to sell it becuase it was "family land".
