It's about a little girl who wants to take care of herself, her mother let's her by splitting the house down the middle and letting her dress herself, feed herself, make a fort under the dining room table with her stuffed animals, etc. I remember one specific part where her mom makes chocolate cake but she can't have any because it's on the other side of the rope that's dividing the kitchen.
