i can't plug my Blackberry 8830 to the computer?

my blackberry phone won't pop out of the pc. i plugged it and all i hear is a sound but no folders to view. why? i haven't installed it yet cos i have no cd. help me. i wanna transfer music and pics and stuff.
 
you might have to install a certain program and there might be something wrong with the phone or the usb cord so get it checked out
