i cant open the consol in oblivion....how do u turn off windows media player?

i have vista home prem and when i log into oblivion and type (~) nothing comes up.........they say i need to turn off the remote sensor on windows media center .....but i dont know how to..........i need to turn off windows media player or i need to deleted it.....how can i do this
 
go to: "Default Programs" in the start bar, and click in "set your default programs" and set you if you want turn on or not some program that is default of windows (WMP or WMC)
