I am thirteen years old and recently had mono. I gained a bunch of weight (like 10-15 gross lbs) At first i didn't notice anything, but now i am starting to see and feel a difference. I didn't change my diet, but now i am thinking i should. Suggestions? I would like to exercise, except i also have a stress fracture in my back and have at least 4 more weeks of no physical activities.
i am 5'8 and around 160 lbs now- i went to a party last night and gained like 5 pounds. I really cant afford to gain a bunch of weight as i am an athlete, it is what i do, it is what i am good at doing, and i love playing sports, being active. I couldnt afford the mono as it cut into my soccer season and i REALLY couldnt afford the back fracture as it threw my whole basketball season out the door.
I am afraid that gaining a bunch of weight like i am will just mess everything up, on top of the stress fracture. Sometimes i try running because i just need to get rid of some energy. It is stupid and i am probably just setting my recovery back even farther but, when i ignore the pain, i feel sluggish, and it is scary.
I was wondering, if because i have been doing ZERO physical activity, will i lose the weight again rather quickly when i begin to exercise again? I obviously need to go on a temporary, lower calorie diet that will fit a daily routine with very minimal exercise, so any suggestions on what to do?
