You may be a hidden hyperventilator. Took 10 years for me to find a doctor who was able to diagnose my problem.

3 internists and 2 cardiologists had no clue. Finally went to a hypertension specialist at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and he recognized the problem instantly.

Prescription was to rebreathe in paper sack 5 minutes every hour for 3 months and then as needed. For some reason my breathing got off track and the specialist said it was not anxiety. For unknown reasons I was blowing off too much carbon dioxide and that in turn caused an imbalance of oxygen and carbon dioxide which in turn caused the vital organs to be deprived of oxygen. You must have a balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in order for the red carpusles to carry oxygen to the vital organs.

Give the paper sack a good try and see if it helps. When you first start rebreathing in a sack you will feel like you are not getting enough air. Take a break and breathe outside of the sack and then try again. In a short time you will get the hang of it. NEVER use plastic bags, you will suffocate. Most lunch paper sacks are loose on the bottom, tape it shut or too much of exhaled air will be lost.

I think it's because, of your high blood pressure. You feel breathless because, the veins of where your blood is circulating was being enveloped with fat, that's why it's hard for the blood to circulate around.
