As a teenager in grade 8 myself, I cannot understand why my peers obsess about dating so much, instead of focusing on their schoolwork. Recently on Friday their was a school dance in the afternoon. (it was the last day of school)
Well, my friend is having girl problems, but when a girl named Rachael asked him to dance, he declined, fearing he would be inadequate and she would never like him. An hour later ( the dance was from 12:30 to 3:30) he regretted it, and got fairly upset. Why is this such a disaster to him? when I don't care at all, and another of my friends, Sabin, cares only marginally. (although he has a girlfriend.)
Also know why he got involved in the dating scene at all?? From what I have seen, it is like a bunch of factions in a country, all trying for the leadership of the country. My strategy is to stay in the forest, avoiding all the fighting and drama, and let others rule. My friend however, is getting mixed into all the drama, and when he is rejected, he gets upset. Why do teen boys get involved in this dramatic mess in the first place, vying for a useless goal. Its like going to war with another country over a rock. Destruction, drama, and sadness for no gain. Its a pity we humans are so self destructive.
