I can stay in the present at home but when in public I cant! Re social

anxiety and meditation? Ok so meditation is great I no longer suffer for long because I just surrender to the negative feeling and it goes away!

But the reason I started meditation was to help with my social anxiety and when Im in public my mind gets stuck in anxiety even though I can get rid of anxiety at home.

Do I need to meditate in public places or is it enough to just mediate at home?

While doing meditation, concentrate your mind. Try to forget your own identity slowly and steadily. Thus the whole idea is you should forget your ego and pride. That individual ego, which one possesses now, should be gradually converted into Universal ego, so that you can accommodate the sufferings of several people who are undergoing suppression, oppression and depression. Pray for universal peace, happiness, welfare and prosperity whenever you pray or do some sort of meditation.

When you close your eyes while doing such meditation with genuine concentration, without your own knowledge your whole body will float in the sky. That is called the ideal place for meditation.
 
Meditation helps us to live in the present moment. It is called living in Dharma. We can practice this at any time of the day. It is known as moving meditation. Such as when you are driving, you should just be driving... being in that present moment. Not distracting yourself with music, phones, other thoughts... just concentrating on what you are doing at that present moment. You can practice this all day, when you are working, shopping, reading, etc.
