i can only do 3 - 5 pullups and i go to boot camp tomorrow.?

I swear to God i'm gonna become a Marine or die trying.

But also, I'm rather upset that I haven't really gotten better at pull ups for the past couple months and wouldn't mind some encouragement.

I should be alright for the initial I.S.T. right?

With that attitude you will become a very good marine.. once you get to boot camp and see the others you will feel better about yourself. You are not alone. Yeah you might get your tail chewed a little by the DI but remember this.. if he did not think you could do it.. he would cut you loose in a heartbeat. Boot camp is not to weed out the weak but to strengthen the strong. You have a strong desire and it should see you through. Just go and be honest about yourself.. you will get a lot of help..remember, you do not have to be superman, just be a good man.. Good luck

You understand that boot camp is DESIGNED for you to pass. yes it will be tough and you will think "what the fuck, what am i doing here" but after the first few weeks you get use to it

Lastly, there will always be someone worse off then you, im sure there are guys who cant do any and are there right now

Basic is designed for everyone to complete, so don't worry you will graduate, however, when you do is up to you. There will more than likely be people that can't even do one pull up if that makes you feel better.
If you are not up to standards to start basic training they will hold you in reception and have you do PT until you are deemed physically fit enough to start training. Good luck with everything and you should be alright as you work hard and don't do anything stupid.

Listen up, Boot. Have you used a trainer or someone who knows how to do a proper Military grade pull-up? If not, it's to be expected that you didn't get much better. You will be ridiculed Day 1 by the DI. However, it's the DI's responsibility to get you to the required level. Everyone gets picked on your first couple of days, so don't worry too much. A DI will try to make you feel worthless and will constantly scream. Listen to what they say, not their tone of voice. They will help you out and give you tips. Remember, it's their job to train professional Marines. They do have a reputation to uphold. That is why they are so hard on all boots. Don't make excuses and don't ever talk back. They will get you to the right level. If they don't, it looks bad on their record, so they will ensure you get there. I wasn't that great either first starting out, but the instructors work with you as will your fellow boots. Good luck!

You will be fine, I went to boot camp not being able to do ONE single standard pushup, and graduated doing I think like 30?? pullups is not a requirement to be in the military, and most women can't do them anyway, but you (are not a woman for one) will be able to do much much more once you graduate, don't worry at all, they've got BCT down to a literal science, to get the most out of you in the shortest time.

dont sweat it. give it your all and never give up. your DIs wont give up on you unless you give up on yourself.
i saw recruits hit PI doing 2 pullups that left doing 20. you will be afforded plenty of chances to work on your upper body strength, trust me.
