Here is the riddle:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
First, we have this:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Of course He is able. But name me ONE instance where God forced ANYONE to do anything?
And for those who mention Pharaoh, his heart was hardened by God, but not directly. His pride hardened his heart, first by refusing to let israel go, & then, by not listening to His adviser's, when the wold Him to let Israel go. So yes, God didn't harden his heart-not directly, but by His own stubbornness & Pride!
Then we have this:
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Of course he is willing, but as I have shown you above, God has NEVER forced His will on anyone. We CHOOSE to disobey Him! How is this malevolent? Can you say Free will?
Finally we have this:
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
Whence cometh evil? Form MAN'S disobedience.
Evil come from man-NOT God.
Does THIS sound like God is evil:
John 3:16-17 (New International Version)
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Does this answr your questions about this riddle?
That should be when he was TOLD, not wold! OOPS!
Why call Him God?
Because everything bad that has ever happened in this world is becasue of man's sin-Not anything God did!
Emmy:
You Chose to rob that Bank-Nobody forced you to.
Sparky:
PROVE God doesn't exist, & than what you say will have validity!
Eddie:
No, I have given you BIBLICAL proof! You just CHOOSE not to believe it!
Michelle:
God didn't CREATE evil-He created that which BECAME evil!
Michelle:
To add to that:
God didn't create evil, as seen here:
Genesis 1:31 (New International Version)
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
After God created everything, this is what happened. Where does it even HINT that anything evil was created?
The Kitten:
As I pointed out above-Man is responsible for evil-Not God.
Don't blame God for what man did!
The Kitten:
To add to this:
Look at this:
Genesis 1:31 (New International Version)
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
After God created everything, it was VERY GOOD! God didn't CREATE man evil, man CHOSE to become evil-by his disobedience to God!
This was NOT GOD'S fault. Everything that was originally created WAS PERFECT!
Man screwed it up-not God. Don't blame God for what man did!
Emmy:
God gives you a way to AVOID eternal punishment, as seen here:
John 3:16-17 (New International Version)
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Where does he coerce anyone here?
You choose eternal punishment by rejecting Christ! That is not God's fault, it's yours!
Michelle;
No, humans CHOSEto MAKE themselves imperfect? How is this God's fault?
