as a additional question 4? muslims to answer....what option is available to you, if in spite of its scriptural acuracy...you feel the religious teacher in your mosque is saying intolerant things that incite his listeners to acts of intolerance or violence?

is there a prohibition on questioning the authority of what he's saying, or can you challenge him without fear of reprisal?

anyway, heres the quote:

" the continuing influence of the Ulama is the major factor why there has been so little intellectual progress in muslim societies, why critical thought has not developed. throughout islamic history, but especially in recent times, the ulama have actively hindered attempts to introduce the idea of human rights, freedom, individualism and liberal democracy."
