I bought a new battery for my ford explorer but the next day the battery light came

back on. Help.? My 1998 ford explorer battery gage was reading low and then the warning light came on. Replaced the battery with a new one thinking this would solve the problem. But the next day drove the truck and the battery warning light came on again. What else can be the problem? Can something be draining the battery?
 
The battery gauge is somewhat misleading, it measures the health of your charging system, NOT the battery. Yes, check the alternator and all charging related stuff.
