I bought a computer from the company I worked for. They went out of business?

What my question is, is how do I clean it up? I have alot of programs on here that I don't use anymore, example Quickbooks, that won't remove itself totally from the add/remove programs. Also, it was set up on a network. So I have firewalls and all other kinds of things that won't let me log on because it still operates like it was under my old company. Does this make sense? LOL, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Run a recovery/reinstall windows
What brand is it
some computers have a built in recovery option usually F10
do you have a windows CD
if not then you will need to obtain a new operating system
Either buy a windows cd off the web or from a store
or you can get Ubuntu its a free OS but it will take a little time to "learn"

Many computers have an extra restore partition. When you boot it up it allows you to restore it to its factory new state.

If you have the Windows Disks reinstall it.

If you have neither than you can download and install the free Linux operating system on it or buy a copy of Microsoft Windows.
