I been on probation for 1 year now but i havent reported to my probation officer!?

after a year of a 3 years sentence i stopd reporting to my probation officer for 3 months now because i wasnt in town but thats no good excuse and i have a hearing about my case on the 30th for failure to report to the probation officer. what should i tell them??? that wouldnt sound that bad of an excuse and they might take it easy on me. i never went to jail i was charge for 2nd degree robbery but my case was complicated and my part of the story and lawyer managed to drop the felony charge to a msterminer and i was only given probation and comunity service. i live in loas angeles
