Most times, whenever I write a great story, I end up stuck on what to continue with. Its weird, cuz I always start thinking about the second book since I cant think of anything for the 1st to go on. I'm stuck on the second book, because it needs stuff from the 1st. Here are a few details of the scene and the characters:
Setting: Takes place in a somewhat futuristic type of world. No flying cars, robots, etc., though. There is a VERY TALL glass building with at least 1,500 floors, and about 50,000 rooms. This place is where most of the story takes place. Its name is The Collection.
Characters: Teens get kidnapped when they recieve special abilities. Not everyone has a special ability, only few are born with a special ability no one else has. But the ability, when they hit teen-hood, is fully able to be used. Any time before their ability is fully developed, they can't use it. They are just basically, normal. Anyway, Aleena (main character) gets kidnapped on her 13th birthday. She is knocked unconcious by her kidnappers and taken to "the glass building" (got the name for it, tho not giving it out). Its basically jail, but cleaner and no guards (the building was made of substances that abilities can't go thru, so it cant be destroyed). "Inmates" mostly sit in their room, go to breakfast, lunch, and dinner (at specific times) and go to a class that is basically P.E., but where they can train their powers in a "fun" way.
Connor, Aleena's best friend that loves her and told her he was a wolf JUST before she was kidnapped, tries looking for her.
So there, I dont know what else to do with them. I dont want Aleena or Connor to die. But I would REALLY appreciate at least a LITTLE idea, and I'll go on from there. Thanks!
I've taken two to three months break on it. I got a little idea, of another boy randomly popping in and saving Aleena (then a possible love triangle with Aleena-Jake-Connor).
Aleena's ability is better than the kidnapper's (Jacinda is her kidnapper and use to be her best friend. Jacinda has the ability of Aging, where you can be any age you want, except older than your biological age. When a person is, for example, 90 and is going to die, even if you are in the form of a younger self, you will still die)
Aleena's ability is one that doesnt really have a name (dont need help on it, or if u can give a suggestion, I'd really appreciate it!
) which is kind of a 3-in-1 ability; she can Blind, Deafen, and Kill people, instantly.
I know you guys will want Aleena and Connor to be together, and they will, either in the second or third book.
BTW, Connor can't go thru the doors of the building, because no "half-people" can enter. The only kind of people that can enter are regular humans, and people with abilities. Sorry if it limits answers. :/
Please don't tell me to take some sort of a break. I've taken 4 months on trying to write this. And I want to continue it.
I want for Aleena to somehow get away, with there being a complication of getting out. Then, in the second book, Jacinda wants to capture Aleena, but instead, creates an army of Ability Devourers, that are made specifically to kill people with Special Abilities.

I'm sorry to announce this, but I've made up my mind about this: Connor cannot get into The Collection. There's no way, because the building was made up of substances half-people cant go thru. Sorry if it crushed ur idea.

Why Aleena got kidnapped: Because she has a special ability, like everyone else.
Why is Connor a wolf: Morphing passes down randomly from generation to generation (example: you mght be able to morph into a cat, while your parents can't, but your grandma can)
The government does not want to have to deal with people with Special Abilities. They might become trouble, so the government agreed to letting The Collection open and stay that way.
