i am very worried as i have had a fundoplication and am fearful of picking up a stomache bug as i can not vomit

I had my Fundoplication in October 2008. I had the same concern. I have two prescriptions for anti-nausea medications to take if I start getting some nausea to help provent the need to vomit. The one that is most effective for me if the Zofran that melts under the tongue.

Unfortunately, last October, I got a bad Gastroenteritis bug. My stomach found a way for the vomit to come up. It was quite forceful. The other times, it is just a dry heave feel. I can say that I still worry about potential damage from the day I was sick. I worry about pulling the stitches or having my stomach slip. Not much I can do to provent either though.

Good luck,

You mention forceful vomiting. I had a TIF...the incisionless surgery. I am told that it is different from your operation in that I am able to vomit etc. For the past week I have been woken up with a forceful regurgatation. It feels like the old "acid regurgatation" , except for the force with which it comes up. It scares me. I never experienced anything like this prior to my procedure. Anyone else experiencing this?
