...there anything i can do now? I'm a huge nfl philadelphia eagles fan and love football. my biggest passion in life is to be a sideline reporter for espn and work on nfl network. is there anything i can do now to help me out? due to the fact im only a sophomore in high school it limits my oppurtunities. does anyone have any suggestions?
I watch espn and espn2 all of the time and am always up for learning new info.

yep stay in school.

look for high school internships with your local news affiliate

if your high school was anything like mines, then they have some sort of broadcasting class and/or school newspaper. sign up for that. and if they are all booked, then find out who does the sports section at your school and learn all you can from them.

watch alot of sportscenter, and the sports segment of your local news. try and emulate the stuff they do. google tips on what not to do when doing a sports broadcast. im sure they will say things like "stick to the facts, keep your own personal opinions out of it"

If your school has a media club, join it. At my old high school we actually had a little news program once a week. Look like it does on tv. Tell tell you want to cover all the sports at your school. Weather its video or just print, itll let you get some knowledge on what you really need to pay attention to. Three years in a club like that will help out when you chose a college to go to . And of course you wanna major in broadcast journalism in college.
