...is the camping like there? We are planning to visit and camp at Dry Tortugas National Park for a night since I heard it was beautiful and we are really into back-country/primitive camping.
How much does it cost to take the ferry there? Should I plan ahead and book or is it easy to book once I am in Key West? Does the camping often fill up? Is it better to go mid week or weekend?

Also, if you have some info on fun places to stay or cool places to visit in the Florida Keys it would be appreciated! We are very outdoorsy people who love the sunshine and nature and are renting a car from Miami and driving down during March.

We were there a few years ago for our 10th wedding anniversary. We took the ferry out to Dry Tortugas (which at that time I think ran about $125 each) and spent the day there exploring the fort and snorkeling. (The ferry ticket included a picnic lunch and all the gear.) I don't think we bought tickets ahead of time. We just showed up early that morning and got them before we boarded. - - - Are you sure you're allowed to camp there? You probably want to check out the National Park website to be sure. - - - Dry Tortugas is probably my favorite place that we have ever visited - it's breathtaking!!

Oh yeah....side note...we were there in February and the water was freezing cold! Not sure how much warmer it will be in March, but don't be surprised if it's colder than you might expect!
