I am thinking of buy a motorcycle instead of a car help?

i live in north Carolina and i haven't lived here to long maybe like less then a year but i have always loved motorcycles since a kid and got a chance to buy one from my uncles friend he is selling a nice 1952 Harley Davidson Panhead. What should i choose and for the people that live in NC is it good here for Year Round Riding i mean i know it gets cold but i came from NJ that's cold and so lastly i would be using it for Work and School.
 
A 60-year-old bike isn't something that you can consider a daily rider, or reliable transportation. You need a car as well.
