Hey all. Im in my second year of undergraduate studies but IM thinknig about switching to a Major in Math in a Bachelors of Arts. I would then have 2 more years to get my bachelors and then I would move onto a masters in special childhood education in 1 year and then I would start working. I know teachers make 50k with a masters starting.. thats pretty good for me. I mean I love kids and worknig with people. I can't imagine becoming a doctor, or a computer engineer or any other engineer even thougH I love math. Im very compassionate and I like helping people. Plus.. I am also going to earn my pharmacy tech certificate in 2 months even thoug Im only 18 and then im going to hopefully work and earn 30k before tax. I mean then when i work as a teacher I would make like 50k before tax, and 80k with the teaching a pharm tech job.. Money isn't a problem for me since I don't plan on living in nyc for tooo long. So.... Is the jobs for math and special ed teachers pretty good in nyc? I know arts and humanities are suffering.. but I hear math and special ed is pretty good. I know ther is a lot of conflict between michael bloomberg over teachers that are old but don't teach good. Shoudl I be safe in the math/special ed fields in nyc teaching?? Just need to know. Thanks.
