I am talk photos at a charity ball and i need some guidence!?

I have a Canon 400D and have been asked to take the photos at a charity ball! I have all the lighting and have looked into setting that up but i really need some guidence on which settings to use on the camera!
The ball is tomorrow night and i am getting really nervious now!
Please help me!!!!
